Since 2021, we completed two-dozen transactions totaling approximately $30 billion. Notably, the acquisition of PPD for over $20 billion established Thermo Fisher as a leader in the CRO industry. Our transactions span molecular biology, protein synthesis, life science instrumentation, biologics, and drug manufacturing, making us a leader in corporate development and M&A in the life sciences sector. Key Responsibilities Drive the company's M&A strategy and portfolio objectives. Lead, mentor, and develop the M&A and Strategic Capital legal team, overseeing work allocation, fostering collaboration, and supporting professional growth. Manage internal and external legal teams responsible for corporate development, M&A, and strategic capital legal affairs. Handle all transaction stages, from initial presentations and deal structuring to closings and integration. Supervise M&A and Strategic Capital matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, joint ventures, and investments globally. Review, negotiate, and supervise transaction documentation such as term sheets, purchase agreements, and investment agreements. Advise senior leadership on inorganic growth initiatives and manage stakeholder expectations. Collaborate on due diligence, regulatory filings, closing preparations, and integrations. Drive practice management, including outside counsel oversight, best practices, and process improvements. Qualifications JD from an accredited law school; licensed in the U.S. 10-15 years legal experience, preferably with top-tier law firms or in-house transactional leadership. Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or highly regulated industries; international deal experience preferred. Proven track record in managing large, complex M&A transactions, including international deals. Strong collaboration skills with senior management and cross-functional teams. Leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills with a diplomatic presence. Excellent work ethic, self-starter attitude, and a desire for continuous improvement. Team-building experience and talent development skills. Exceptional communication skills and high ethical standards. Willingness to work from Waltham, MA, with 10-20% travel.
