Job Description

The Senior Paralegal - Contracts is responsible for leading a team of paralegals in the preparation, review, and management of legal agreements and documentation. This position requires strong leadership abilities combined with extensive contract expertise to ensure organizational compliance and risk mitigation.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of paralegals and legal assistants, providing guidance on complex contract matters and ensuring quality deliverables.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Business Development, and Operations teams to streamline contract processes and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Monitor and ensure adherence to industry regulations and certification requirements across all contractual engagements.
  • Document Management: Prepare, review, edit, and finalize various legal documents including service agreements, vendor contracts, and purchase arrangements.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external counsel, vendors, and business partners.
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive legal document filing systems and correspondence records.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to identify potential contractual risks and liability issues.
  • Implement tracking systems for monitoring contract deadlines, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare compliance documentation including certifications, notices, and regulatory filings.
  • Dispute Resolution Support: Assist with legal notice procedures and documentation.
  • Coordinate with external counsel on claim matters and litigation support.
  • Manage correspondence related to disputes and legal proceedings.
  • Review and process legal invoices and billing statements.
  • Administrative Functions: Oversee professional licensing requirements and regulatory permits.
  • Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to streamline legal processes through technology solutions and best practices implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate or Associate's degree in Legal Studies, plus minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree with equivalent paralegal experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract law principles and legal documentation requirements.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and staff supervision within a legal environment.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents and identify potential compliance issues.
  • Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency with legal case management software and document review platforms.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and certification processes.
