This is an unpaid internship.

The Community Outreach & Communication intern will have hands-on experience in the field of digital marketing while contributing to the promotion of public health initiatives. This position will work closely with the communication and marketing team, under the supervision of the communication manager, learning and applying social media strategies to enhance the organization's online presence.

Illustrative Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms, aligning with organizational goals and public health messaging
  • Collaborate with the communication manager to ensure visually appealing and on-brand materials
  • Schedule and publish posts on different social media channels, maintaining a consistent posting schedule
  • Learn how to respond to comments and messages
  • Implement strategies to increase audience reach and interaction across platforms
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of social media marketing campaigns to promote public health events and initiatives
  • Collaborate with the communication manager to ensure campaigns align with organizational messaging and objectives
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to evaluate the performance of campaigns and provide actionable insights
  • Compile monthly reports on key metrics, presenting findings to the marketing manager for continuous improvement
  • Contribute innovative ideas and strategies based on market research and emerging trends
  • Work closely with the communication manager and other relevant departments to ensure cohesive and effective communication across all channels
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions
  • Support the creation of visual content and collaborate with the marketing manager to maintain a visually appealing and cohesive social media presence
  • Monitor social media platforms for mentions of Cabarrus Health Alliance and relevant health topics
  • Attend community events on behalf of CHA to help market services and provide public health education

Education/Experience: Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program studying Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to have strong written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with major social media platforms, basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting, and creative mindset with a passion for public health initiatives.

Time Commitment: 10-20 hours/week
